Urgent Appointments

All requests for urgent (same day) appointments are triaged: please do not expect to get an immediate appointment. The duty doctor will telephone you to ascertain the medical need for a same-day appointment and may offer:
telephone advice

  • an urgent appointment on the same day
  • a routine appointment on another day
  • a nurse/healthcare assistant appointment

If an urgent appointment is offered, this will be a short appointment to deal with the urgent problem only. You may be asked to make a routine appointment with your own doctor for any non-urgent problems.

Casualties

Casualties are defined as minor injuries occurring within the previous 48 hours. These will be triaged by the practice nurse.
